Home Our Dogs Youngsters News Links Garden ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We had excellent news last week- the two handsome boys- Ashley and Briar- Somerled Summertime Guy and Somerled Summer Knights were hip scored. Ashley was 5/3=8 and Briar was 9/6=15 Chantelle won the Junior class at Leicester Gundog Club Show 13.2.10 and then went BOB. Suzy at the same show won the Post Graduate Class Suzy was second in Junior Bitch at Manchester Championship Show 21.1.10 and qualified for Crufts 2011 Suzy (Canonsett Truly Romantic) was 1st in Junior at Ashbourne Open Show 28.12.09 At Northern English Setter Championship Show 5.12.09 Chantelle (Canonsett All About Romance) was First Junior Bitch and Suzy (Canonsett Truly Romantic ) was First in Novice Bitch and Second in Maiden Bitch. Judge was Mrs Julia Lynn At Midland English Setter Open Show Chantelle was second in Junior Bitch and only beaten by Best Bitch in Show. Suzy was First in both Maiden and Novice. At Leeds Championship Show 25.7.09 Chantelle was Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed. Judge was Mrs R Croft Chantelle was first in Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed at East of England Championship Show 11.7.09 Judge was Miss Lois Buckley Thank you so much for this lovely write up. PB (9,1) Lovely class of puppies all at different stages of development. 1 Hill, Muckle & Littlechild’s Canonsett All About Romance at Somerled, absolutely gorgeous 10 months orange puppy, well balanced, elegant with lovely height on leg, super conformation all through, good bone & depth, level topline & correct tailset, balanced angulation, good length of upper arm & sweep of stifle, moved steadily & true, correct tail carriage, just lovely from her pretty head down to her neat tight feet. Coat a little on the blow but must be one destined for the top if she goes on to fulfil this early promise. BP

Chantelle, Jasmine and Asley all did well at Three Counties Championship Show 18.6.09 Ashley was first in PD, Jasmine was first in MPB, Chantelle was first in PB .She was Best BP, Ashley was Best DP and Chantelle was Best Puppy in Breed. Mum Daisy was second in Graduate Bitch. Many thanks to judge Val Cozens. Her writeups for Jasmine and Chantelle are below. PD Hill and Muckle's Somerled Summertime Guy. Lovely outline especially on the move with superb tail carriage for one so young. Head immature but with good promise.

PB Hill, Muckle and Littlechild’s Canonsett All About Romance. Such a pretty feminine bitch with a melting look at me expression, well proportioned with a lovely coat and presentation. Her head set on an elegant neck. She moved exceptionally well and with good driving rear action. I hope this one goes on for top honours.
Canonsett All About Romance (Chantelle) was first in Minor Puppy and Best Bitch Puppy at her first championship show at Bath- May 2009- Judge was Mrs P Halstead. Surprise surprise but our newest youngster is a Parson Russell Terrier Introducing Mindlen Capercaillie (Bracken), born 6.1.09. He is held in partnership with Eileen Hill . He is not the slightest bit worried by the big dogs, takes everything in his stride. What a cutie. Here at 8 weeks.

Although I said I was not keeping anything from Francesca and Tyler - --- this little girl Canonsett Rock Chick (Jasmine) is so pretty she has become one of the family. The resemblance to her Dad is striking.

We have also retained some puppies from Daisymae and Ritchie (Sh Ch Ravensett American Gigolo at Somerled) Born 12/9/08. This is Suzy (Canonsett Truly Romantic) The only blue in a litter of oranges. The names were all romance ones as Great great granny Sh Ch Ravensett Romance died aged 15 just when the litter was born.

Heidi went to her first training night and match and was Best Puppy in Puppy Walk against 10 other under 6 month pups- let's hope she has started the way she means to continue. Briar from the boys below also did well from Puppy and went through to challenge for reserve best pup.
From a litter from Ravensett LouLou at Somerled (hips 6/4) by Sorbus Seabiscuit at Fishwick (hips 3/4) we have retained two handsome male puppies.
Somerled Summer Knights Somerled Summertime Guy Blue belton and tan orange belton Puppies were born 5th July 2008 both are held in partnership with Eileen Hill (Somerled) and Sharon Littlechild (Ravensett)
